These trainings are geared toward unions who want to train their members to do organizing.  Whether your unions is looking to grow and strengthen internally (within their unionized shop) or externally (organize new members into the union), the OI will train members on basic organizing skills.  All AFL-CIO affiliated unions are welcomed to sponsor members to these trainings.

Following the trainings the OI will provide the sponsoring union with an assessment of the member’s skills and recommendations for next steps.

If you are a union (local or international) and you would like to sponsor members to the training complete the sponsorship form. 

The cost of sponsorship is $100 per participant.  This will cover training materials and meals.  The cost of travel to and from the training site and overnight stays are the responsibility of the sponsoring union.  The OI will offer a list of reasonably priced hotels for overnight stays.  Union members must be sponsored to the trainings  by their union.

Sponsorship forms should be received no later than ten days before the training in order to ensure a seat. 

All fees should be paid before the start of the training.  Checks should be made payable to the Secretary Treasurer of the AFL-CIO and mailed to the Organizing Institute 815 16th St  NW  Washington, DC 20006 to the attention of Camille West-Eversley.
