Each week, we take a look at the biggest friends and foes of labor. We celebrate the workers winning big and small battles, and we shame the companies or people trying to deny working people their rights.
Winners: Long Island University-Brooklyn faculty, after an unprecedented lockout from the school ended. "We have won a victory," said the Long Island University Faculty Federation.
Runners-Up: Postdoctoral scholars at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, who became the first such group who have successfully organized.
Loser: Donald Trump, with his long record of not paying for the hard work of his employees and contractors.
Runners-Up: Republican legislators and operatives, who have used voter identification laws to lower voter turnout.
