The AFL-CIO Organizing Institute Presents an “Am I Safe at Work” Webinar: Working People Winning in a Pandemic!
Thursday, Sept. 10, 2020 | 2-3 p.m. ET
Registration Deadline: Tuesday, Sept. 8 at 4 p.m. ET
The COVID-19 pandemic has created a health and safety crisis in workplaces across the country with working families in nearly every industry being placed in life or death situations simply by showing up to work. Faced with this obstacle, we are turning to collective action to demand employers do more to keep us safe at work.
This webinar is the first of three in a series highlighting the AFL-CIO’s Am I Safe at Work Campaign.
Join this conversation as member activists and union organizers share their experiences on how they've used health and safety issues in non-union workplaces to build worker committees, move workers to action and empower workers to win better protections at work during this pandemic. They will share challenges (and solutions) of getting new organizing campaigns off the ground in this pandemic.
We will also provide a demonstration of amisafeatwork.org, a tool that unions can use to probe non-union workplaces and educate workers around COVID-19 health and safety issues.
Stay safe and we look forward to you being part of this conversation on what working people are doing to WIN critical safety and health protections while working in this pandemic!
