Pride Month Profiles: Kim Sansom

Kim Sansom

For Pride Month, the AFL-CIO is spotlighting various LGBTQ Americans who have worked and continue to work at the intersection of civil and labor rights. Today's Pride Month profile is Kim Sansom.

Kim Sansom has been a member of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 429 for 29 years and has been serving as president of the local for the past two years. She also serves on IBEW's International Women's Committee and the Electrical Workers Minority Caucus. Sansom has been instrumental in building and leading the Music City Construction Careers apprenticeship readiness program in Nashville, Tennessee, and is fiercely committed to recruiting, supporting, and mentoring women, people of color and LGBTQ people in the trades.
