Service + Solidarity Spotlight: Support Delta Flight Attendants’ Massive Organizing Campaign

Rasaq, a Delta flight attendant

Working people across the United States have stepped up to help out our friends, neighbors and communities during these trying times. In our regular Service + Solidarity Spotlight series, we'll showcase one of these stories every day. Here’s today’s story.

The largest single-unit organizing drive in the country is happening at Delta Air Lines as nearly 25,000 flight attendants organize to join the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA-CWA). The union is calling on all of us to support its campaign by wearing AFA-CWA pins or T-shirts on Delta flights, connecting more Delta flight attendants with the organizing campaign and taking part in local actions.

“We should be able to speak up for ourselves and our colleagues without fearing that we’ll be targeted,” said Rasaq, a Delta flight attendant, about why he wants a strong union. “And the truth is that I’ve never felt as empowered as I do every time we show there’s more of us with our AFA pins on. But we have to lock that in with real contract protections.”
