This year, for Black History Month, we're taking a look at a group of leaders who are currently active making Black history across the labor movement. Check back daily for a new profile and meet some of the people working to improve not only their community, but also to improve conditions for working people across the country. Today's profile is Alex Perkins of the United Steelworkers (USW).
Alex Perkins has gone from being an active member of his local, to leading his district’s Next Generation program, to servicing locals by helping them bargain contracts and keep companies accountable. He recently helped workers at Kumho Tire organize their workplace and is constantly showing his community the value of having a union.
