Working people across the United States regularly step up to help out our friends, neighbors and communities during these trying times. In our Service & Solidarity Spotlight series, we’ll showcase one of these stories every day. Here’s today’s story.
Nearly 500 workers at marijuana operator Eaze in California ratified a new three-year collective bargaining agreement. The workers are represented by United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) locals 5, 135, 324 and 770. The contract includes recognition of previous union service, fair wages and regular raises, employer contributions to workers’ health and welfare, and mileage reimbursements for delivery drivers.
“The workers at Eaze stood strong through uncertainty and came out with a contract that protects their wages, benefits, and rights,” said UFCW Local 135 Secretary-Treasurer Grant Tom.
