On Tuesday, the “It’s Better in a Union” bus tour joined a Communications Workers of America (CWA) rally in Charlotte, North Carolina, to stand in solidarity with Wells Fargo workers fighting back against union-busting.
Wells Fargo Workers United-CWA (WFWU-CWA) members have been trying to negotiate a contract with the company since late last year. Wells Fargo has been aggressively working to undermine unionization efforts—in June, company executive Stan Sherrill began interrogating union members, calling union signage “propaganda,” and unlawfully encouraging workers to file for a decertification petition. Wells Fargo workers are standing strong and fighting back.
AFL-CIO Secretary-Treasurer Fred Redmond spoke at the rally, alongside CWA President Claude Cummings Jr., Charlotte-Metrolina Labor Council President Chris Barrett, UNITE HERE Local 23 President LaToya Colvin, and WFWU-CWA members.
The bus is in South Carolina today, and the second bus starts its route in Michigan.
