We celebrate the life of SAG-AFTRA President Ken Howard.
Ken spearheaded the merger of SAG and AFTRA, uniting Hollywood’s two signature unions into a strong and powerful organization.
Ken was a true professional and a relentless voice for working people. Above all, he knew how to listen.
Ken had a stellar acting career. From his roles as Thomas Jefferson to Tip O’Neill to the “White Shadow,” he leaves an indelible legacy. Colleagues from Tom Hanks to George Clooney credit Ken for his guidance and leadership.
But it wasn’t just stars who were lifted up by Ken. He understood the importance of actors standing together for a common purpose and dignity on the job. Solidarity was his calling card.
We mourn the loss of Ken Howard and recognize his many contributions to our movement and our nation.
