Service & Solidarity Spotlight: Arizona IAM Members Reach Tentative Agreement on Strong New Contract

Members of Machinists (IAM) Local 933 reached a tentative agreement Sunday with Raytheon, covering approximately 1,000 members in Tucson, Arizona. The Raytheon workers manufacture missiles and other advanced arms vital to the U.S. military. These members must still vote to approve the contract, which includes pay increases of 4%, 3.5% and 3.25% over the next three years, a $3,000 ratification bonus, pension and other improvements.

Working people in Detroit took to the streets Thursday with the March for Workers’ Rights and Economic Justice, showing that Detroit is “Strike City.” The name Strike City was popularized as 45,000 workers have recently gone on strike.

Service & Solidarity Spotlight: Lipton Members Win Big with New Union Contract

Members of the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 400 working at the Lipton Tea plant in Suffolk, Virginia, ratified a strong new four-year contract. The new agreement provides an 18% wage increase over a three-year period, increases safety requirements, adds an employee assistance plan and provides other improvements.

Service & Solidarity Spotlight: IAM Members Go on Strike at Milk-Bone Plant in Buffalo

Workers at Milk-Bone's plant in Buffalo, New York, are on strike after rejecting a tentative agreement. The 40 maintenance and repair workers are represented by Machinists (IAM) Lodge 330. The workers include mechanics, electricians, oilers and pipe fitters, and they went on strike early Monday after overwhelmingly rejecting a tentative three-year deal. They are seeking 20% increases in pay over the three years.
