Organizing Institute Partners with NBWCP for First-Ever Black Lead Organizer Training
We are just coming off of the first-ever AFL-CIO Organizing Institute (OI) Advanced Organizer Workshop for Black lead organizers and campaign strategists. In commemoration of Black History Month and the history and impact of Black organizers in the Civil Rights and Labor Movement, the OI partnered with the National Black Worker Center Project (NBWCP) on a training specifically designed on developing Black lead organizers.
Who Says Union Organizer Debriefs Can't Be Fun?
We are coming off of an exciting two days of Debriefs: Successful Strategies and Tactics for Winning Campaigns! This Organizing Institute (OI) Exchange Clinic took place Oct. 22-23 and was held at the historic AFSCME Local 1733 union hall in Memphis, Tennessee. Sixteen advanced and lead level organizers from Ironworkers International Union and Communications Workers of America (CWA) leading campaigns across the country participated. The clinic focused on how lead organizers understand and apply the components of effective debriefs into their campaigns.
Oklahoma Union Organizers and Activists 'Training Up' to Win
Last week, twenty-five (25) energetic and dedicated union member activists and staff, mostly from Oklahoma, came together to "train up" on fundamental organizing principles critical to winning internal and external union organizing campaigns.
