Working people in America have certain basic legal rights to safe, healthy and fair conditions at work. Laws allow working people to join together with their co-workers to advocate for better working conditions, such as better pay, health care and retirement, fair scheduling, sick days, and training opportunities.

But some employers, and the big business lobby who back them, seek to roll back these fundamental rights because they value their profits more than they value their employees. We work tirelessly to counter the increasingly sophisticated and well-funded groups who threaten our rights. Union members work together to advocate for better working conditions and better pay and to narrow the widening chasm of income inequality.
