WITH YOU
IT’S BETTER IN A UNION
30th AFL-CIO Constitutional Convention
June 7–10, 2026 | Minneapolis
Registration will open April 7, 2026.

America’s working people and our unions are being tested like never before as the Trump administration, corporate billionaires and powerful interests lay waste to decades of progress.

But the momentum is shifting and we are on the verge of massive change. Working people are challenging the Trump administration’s anti-worker and anti-immigrant agenda—and making a difference. Our federation of unions has never been more united, and we are the trusted and coherent voice this country needs to lead the fight against injustice and oppression.

Our labor built America, and our unions have kept it strong and will continue pushing it forward. We know the power unions have to change lives.

Let us then gather in unity and clarity of purpose to empower working people, redefine our economy and build an America that works for all of us. With you, we can.

Working people are proud to celebrate the 30th AFL-CIO Convention in the Twin Cities, home to a rich and vibrant labor history dating back to Minnesota’s founding as a state.

Safety, security and health are a top priority. Clear protocols will be implemented at the convention hall, hotels and other venues. Participants will receive information and training on these protocols, including emergency response, in advance of the Convention and on site. Participants must have a valid badge to be granted access to our exhibit hall, general session room and pre-conference events.

Rapid response mechanisms, in coordination with the local labor movement, will be in place to address any unforeseen events. Finally, personal protective equipment, including masks, will be available. For information about the current health and safety protocols, please visit the Minneapolis Convention Center website.

Credentials

Registration will open April 7, 2026 at aflcioconvention.org.

Each national or international union, directly affiliated local union, state, area or local labor body, trade and industrial department, national constituency organization, allied retiree organization, and young worker organization will receive a link to register their delegation.

Note: Every four years, the AFL-CIO holds a convention to democratically elect its officers and adopt resolutions that guide the labor movement. The AFL-CIO’s affiliate unions, trade departments, federated bodies and constituency and allied organizations recognized by the federation elect or designate their delegates to the convention. Only accredited delegates, alternates and guests may attend the convention in-person.

Diversity at the 2026 AFL-CIO Convention

Delegates to the 2005 AFL-CIO Convention enthusiastically approved a constitutional amendment providing that, beginning with the 2009 convention, each national or international union delegation or organizing committee to the AFL-CIO Convention “shall generally reflect the racial and gender diversity of its membership.”

This fact sheet provides background information on the implementation of the diversity requirement so that affiliated unions and state, area, and local central bodies can take the necessary steps to comply.
