Support for House Joint Resolution 28: Amendment to the Constitution of the United States Regarding the Right to Vote

Las Vegas

Congressman Jesse Jackson, Jr. of Illinois has introduced a joint resolution to amend the Constitution to guarantee the rights of all citizens of the United States, who are eighteen years of age or older, to have the right to vote in any public election held in the jurisdiction in which the citizen resides.

We need to provide the American people with a citizenship right to vote and provide Congress with the authority to craft a unitary voting system that is inclusive of all Americans and guarantees that all votes will be counted in a complete, fair and efficient manner.

The AFL-CIO stands in support of House Joint Resolution 28.
