The AFL-CIO provides virtual training sessions to our State Federation, Area Labor Federation, and CLC leaders, Union Affiliate leaders and members and all labor activists to increase their skills and knowledge. Action Network Online Tools
Connecting with union members online is key to winning campaigns. Action Network is a comprehensive digital campaign tool used across the labor movement. It allows you to email union members and activists about updates and actions they can take, set up petitions, event pages, letter campaigns and other actions, run reports and much more.
Mobile texting is also available in the tool. Action Network is free to use and the National AFL-CIO provides support and training.

These trainings are held the first Thursday of every month.
Learn how to set up your data in Action Network. We’ll cover gathering activist data, uploading, segmenting, and downloading your list, as well as how to keep your data organized as you grow.
Action Network: Actions, Mobilizing & Growing Your Activist List
These trainings are held the second Thursday of every month.
The essence of Action Network! Petitions, letter campaigns, events, fundraisers and much more. Join us each month as we rotate through action types and talk through best practices in creating engaging actions.
Action Network Email Training
These trainings are held on the third Thursday of every month.
Learn how to write, test, and target your emails in this one hour training. We’ll cover the basics as well as some advanced topics, including conditional content, design, and queries.
Action Network Mobile Messaging
These trainings are held the fourth Thursday of every month.
Learn how to get started with Mobile Messaging in this training where we will cover how to create a mobile message, how to use ladders and how to set up a call campaign.
Action Network Email Deliverability Training
These trainings are held less frequently, whenever there is a fifth Thursday of the month.
Do you find a lot of emails end up in spam? Are your open rates suddenly tanking? Do you want to avoid these issues altogether? You’ll need to learn about deliverability!
By the end of this training, you will know the best delivery practices to protect your email program and help your emails end up in inboxes and avoid spam folders. You’ll also learn how to improve your deliverability and reputation if it’s taken a hit.

Common Sense Economics (CSE) Conversations
Common Sense Economics is a training and education program for working people by working people. Common Sense Economics explains how the economy works and what we can do to make the economy work better for everyone. The series provides training on specific topics and focus areas, including immigration, race, Right to Work laws and other political issues that define our time.
Due to the small, interactive nature of these conversations, registration is limited and early registration is highly recommended.
