Throughout Hispanic Heritage Month, the AFL-CIO will be profiling leaders and activists to spotlight the diverse contributions Hispanics and Latinos have made to the labor movement. Today's profile features Steve Carrillo.
Steve Carrillo served as inspiration for one of five Mariachi Forever stamps released by the U.S. Postal Service this summer. Carrillo is the current director of Mariachi Cobre, one of the best-known mariachi bands in the U.S., performing for millions of visitors at Epcot Center in Orlando, Florida, since 1982.
