Service + Solidarity Spotlight: MLBPA’s Playmakers Classic Raises Funds for Charitable Initiatives

Working people across the United States have stepped up to help out our friends, neighbors and communities during these trying times. In our regular Service + Solidarity Spotlight series, we'll showcase one of these stories every day. Here’s today’s story.

Whether they’re on or off the field, members of the Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA) are always driven to make positive change. Earlier this week, the union hosted its inaugural Playmakers Classic fundraising event to support the charitable arm of the MLBPA. The MLB Players Trust helps a wide range of charitable initiatives, including youth development and disaster relief.

“Suffice to say, having all the players together and having an opportunity to raise money for the Players Trust…is something that I’m excited about and looking forward to doing,” MLBPA Executive Director Tony Clark (pictured above, left) said at the event.
