President Biden fulfilled his promise to establish a landmark staffing standard that would help nursing home staff and residents.
But the for-profit industry and its allies in Congress are using the Congressional Review Act to not only kill the regulation, but to “salt the earth,” so that the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) can’t release staffing rules to improve nursing home care, now or in the future.
