Working people across the United States have stepped up to help out our friends, neighbors and communities during these trying times. In our Service & Solidarity Spotlight series, we'll showcase one of these stories every day. Here’s today’s story.
The “Table Read” podcast, which offers writers the chance for their unproduced scripts to be discovered, became one of the first to sign the new Independent Podcast Agreement with SAG-AFTRA. It means that the actors, comedians, musicians and influencers who perform on the “Table Read” podcast are now covered, giving them essential protections, respectful working conditions and equitable compensation for their contributions, as well as gaining access to the support and resources provided by SAG-AFTRA.
“We’re so pleased that ‘Table Read’ podcast has signed on as a SAG-AFTRA podcast, allowing the performers who work on this creative series the benefits and protections of a union contract,” said SAG-AFTRA National Executive Director Duncan Crabtree-Ireland.
