For Pride Month this year, the AFL-CIO is spotlighting various LGBTQIA+ workers who have worked and continue to work at the intersection of civil and labor rights in the United States. Today's profile is Charles "Cody" Tribble of AFGE.
Charles "Cody" Tribble is the second vice president of AFGE’s Florida State Council, the secretary of AFGE Black Leaders Advancing Change and Knowledge (B.L.A.C.K.), and the diversity member-at-large for the AFGE National Young Organizing Unionists for the Next Generation (Y.O.U.N.G.) Committee. Tribble is a dedicated unionist who serves as chief steward of his local. As an active member of AFGE PRIDE, he fights on behalf of federal and Washington, D.C., government workers facing discrimination, namely by representing members in Equal Employment Opportunity cases.
