For Pride Month this year, the AFL-CIO is spotlighting various LGBTQIA+ workers who have worked and continue to work at the intersection of civil and labor rights in the United States. Today's profile is Priscilla Rocco of BAC.
Rocco said: “I chose to pursue masonry because I enjoy working with my hands and seeing the end result of my work. Being a woman and queer in the trades has been challenging in that I have struggled to be seen, recognized and accepted by my trade brothers as equal and deserving of my spot. It has been rewarding as in meeting and exceeding the unwritten expectations put on me by those same brothers that I have come to know, respect and love.”
