For Pride Month this year, the AFL-CIO is spotlighting various LGBTQ+ workers who have worked and continue to work at the intersection of civil and labor rights in the United States. Today's profile is Leander Londres of the Illinois AFL-CIO.
Leander Londres is a worker-leader within the Illinois Nurses Association. He currently sits on the state board of directors and on his local's board, where he just led nurses at the University of Illinois Health on back-to-back historic strikes to win groundbreaking staffing and safety measures for public sector nurses throughout the state.
