The Alaska labor movement is releasing ads that distinguish 2014 Alaska Republican Senate nominee from Alaska’s long, bipartisan tradition of pro-labor candidates.

(Anchorage, Alaska, Oct. 16, 2014) The AFL-CIO’s political action committee, Workers Voice, released a radio ad attacking Senate candidate Dan Sullivan’s anti-worker agenda. The radio-spot highlights Dan Sullivan’s record of supporting extremist views like Right to Work and raising the retirement age, forcing Alaskans to continue to work well into their golden years. In addition, the Alaska AFL-CIO also released a YouTube video with a message similar to the radio based ad. All together this large media push will combine video, audio and online advertisements on key Alaskan media websites.
Since statehood, no federal elected representative has stood for the anti-middle class values advocated by Dan Sullivan. Vince Beltrami, President of the Alaska AFL-CIO stated that “We wanted to set the record straight on why Labor is all in for Senator Begich. It’s not because he is a Democrat and Sullivan is a Republican, we’ve proudly endorsed candidates from both sides of the aisle. Working people are strongly supporting Senator Begich because when we look at the records side-by-side Begich stands with hard working Alaskans, while Sullivan stands on the backs of middle class families”
