In Era of Continuing Workplace Fatalities, Workers Push for “Protecting America’s Workers Act”

Working America organizers and members will meet with Rep. Suzanne Bonamici on Tuesday, Sept. 24, to share more than 2,000 member signatures in support of the “Protecting America’s Workers Act” (H.R. 1648), federal legislation to create safer working conditions nationwide.

Latest reports show that an average of 13 workers die every day—a statistic that understates the problem, since many workplace illnesses and fatalities go unreported.

Rep. Bonamici serves on the Workforce Protections Subcommittee in the U.S. House of Representatives.
