Washington, DC – The recent shooting of two police officers in Ferguson, Missouri, is a horrible act of violence perpetrated against law enforcement. It should be condemned by all. Targeting police officers is an act of a cowardice. The perpetrators do not seek reconciliation, but only desire to create conflict.
As the city of Ferguson struggles to rebuild relationships between the community and its police, this incident must not set back those efforts. The perpetrators must be brought to justice, and the process of reform and reconciliation must continue.
