Thousands of nurses rallied across the country Wednesday as part of the National Nurses United (NNU) day of action. The more than 200 actions at hospitals were focused on saving the lives of nurses, other health care workers and patients.

The U.S. economy gained 1.8 million jobs in July, and the unemployment rate declined to 10.2%, according to figures released Thursday morning by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
