Disaster Relief Appropriations Act, 2013
Passage of the bill that would provide $60.4 billion in emergency spending for communities hit by Hurricane Sandy. The bill passed on Dec. 28, but House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) delayed final House action on the relief measure which delayed for more than a month most funds for rebuilding the homes and businesses destroyed by the storm, including funding for rebuilding and improving the transportation systems ravaged by Sandy or help for flood control and shore strengthening projects.
