Amendment to Review Privatization of Department of Defense Jobs

An amendment to the bill from Sen. Paul Sarbanes (D-Md.) would maintain a requirement that the Defense Department conduct annual reviews of private contracts, the number of contracted-out jobs and the performance of the contractors. Republicans, pushing for further privatization of government services wanted to eliminate the reviews.
