Amendment to Defund the Food for Peace Program

Jun. 19, 2013 | H.Amdt. 190 to H.R. 1947
For nearly 60 years, Food for Peace has been the United States' principle international food assistance program and has fed billions of needy people around the globe. During consideration of the Federal Agriculture Reform and Risk Management (FARRM) Act, Rep. Ed Royce (R-Calif.) offered an amendment that would have gutted the Food for Peace program and in the process jeopardized the U.S. maritime industry and the workforce that helps deliver aid around the world. The amendment failed.

This is Bad for working people.
