This bill would provide basic collective bargaining rights to transportation security officers, federal employees who provide for the security and protection of travelers at all U.S. airports. It would also require the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) administrator to follow the labor-management employee relations statutes that provide workplace rights and protections to most other federal government employees under Title 5 of the U.S. Code. This bill passed the House on March 5, 2020.
